Studio Waterdrinker is a full-service architectural firm. We offer consulting, design, engineering and supervision services, from the first meeting to the delivery.
We are a small and personal working studio that brings together spatial planning, architecture and construction. A combination that makes it possible to develop and supervise plans from various disciplines. Through an integral approach, feasible plans are realized in a sustainable manner, whether it concerns a master plan or a building design. In addition to our team, we make use of a network of external professionals who reinforce us with specific expertise.
We offer all design services, from consulting, architectural design, to construction supervision. We do this from the Netherlands and from Mexico. Although most clients ask us for a complete project delivery, we can also deliver in phases. With our expertise in the field of passive building, we are the ideal partner for the realization of passive houses.

You could say that Maikel was predestined for a career in architecture. Raised in a construction family, he studied at Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands where he graduated as an architect in 2007. He gained valuable work experience with numerous design offices as UNStudio in Amsterdam, Royal Haskoning and wUrck in Rotterdam, Syb van Breda & Co in Leiden and G44studio in Cancun. At these firms, he collaborated on a wide range of assignments, from public spaces to housing projects.
Based on his interest in sustainable design, he is a certified passive house expert from the Passive House Institute in Germany. He started Studio Waterdrinker to focus on own projects and consultancy work. In addition, he serves as a guest lecturer at the Delft University of Technology and the Tecnológico de Monterrey in Mexico.
